Phoenix Ba, a Toronto-based fashion designer, specializes in women’s wear and leather accessories. Raised in a family of pattern drafters and tailors, her passion for creating beautiful garments began early, leading her to study fashion design at George Brown College. There, she discovered a deep interest in surface textile. After successfully showcasing her womenswear lines across North America, Phoenix expanded her creativity to leather molding and sculpting, focusing on accessory design.
In collaboration with Sun Xiaotian of Ming Tang, a fifth-generation master dedicated to preserving traditional Chinese leather sculpture techniques, Phoenix launched a line of leather floral ornaments and jewelry. Her work blends traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, using leather carving and molding techniques to create unique, custom designs. The combination of various shapes, materials, and patterns gives her leather accessories a distinct artistic appeal, making them nearly indistinguishable from real flowers.
Much like her womenswear, Phoenix's accessory designs are inspired by nature, particularly plants and floral elements. Each piece is handcrafted from premium cowhide, showcasing her exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Her designs are truly one-of-a-kind, blending traditional artistry with contemporary fashion sensibilities.
